Good morning all,
By virtue of the by-laws, Article VIII – Committees, Section 5, the Nominating Committee comprised the current President (Devon Brenner), Past President (David Ardrey), and the Executive Director (Melissa Sadorf) we are tasked with administering the annual nominations and elections process for the NREA Executive Board.
We have reviewed the procedures and presented a draft proposal to the Executive Committee for review. The proposal has been vetted and approved by the Executive Committee at its most recent meeting on (08/18/25) and approved by the Executive Board at its 08/21/25 meeting.
PROCESS FOR NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS 2025
1. Open the formal call for the Nomination process on Thursday,Sept. 4, 2025
- Begin accepting nominations via email
- Per the by-laws Election Cycle 3 is up for election.
- This will include the Recognized Research Center Rep., State Affiliate B, and State Agency Rep. – elected to a 3-year term beginning January 2026
- President-Elect Designate shall be elected (5-year cycle)
- Nominations must be submitted by a current member in good standing.
- Persons being nominated must be aware of and accept the nomination
2. Board/Annual Meeting – September 25, 2025 (our normal Board meeting date)
- Accept nominations from the floor at the Annual Membership Meeting.
3. Close the formal Nominations process on Thursday, October 9, 2025 EOB
4. Present the nominees to the NREA Board on Sunday, October 12, 2025 for approval.
- Notify candidates of confirmation of ballot inclusion.
- Send intro videos, bio’s and ballot to full membership in good standing on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
5. Electronic Voting to occur Wednesday, October 22 – Friday, November 7, 2025 EOB. (2 weeks / 2 days)
