CoSN Podcast Series – “Screen Time in Schools: Policy, Research, and Reality”

CoSN is pleased to offer a variety of topics in the CoSN Podcast Series which is readily available on Spotify. The most recent podcast offering was a two-part series on “Screen Time in Schools: Policy, Research, and Reality”.

The focus of Part 1 in the series is on the policies and research that is currently driving the conversations around screentime in schools. The discussion includes a review of emerging state legislation, the current debate around instructional technology, and a look at the role of technology when it comes to teaching and learning. The presenters in Part 1 include Keith R. Krueger, CoSN CEO, Evo Popov, Senior Vice President, Whiteboard Advisors, Beth Holland, Managing Director, Research & Policy, FullScale, and Jeremy Roschelle, Co-Executive Director, Learning Sciences Research, Digital Promise.

In Part 2 of the series the focus shifts to a discussion regarding the realities of effectively implementing educational technology in today’s environment. Education leaders share what is happening when screentime legislation and policies are put into action. The conversation explores how this impacts classrooms, schools and the broader school communities. CoSN Statement on FCC Review of the E-Rate program

In early June 2026, CoSN published an official statement regarding the Federal Communications Commission’s plans to review the E-Rate program. In the published statement CoSN acknowledges the critical support E-Rate provides to school districts when it comes to educational connectivity.
